Plot Summary:

Brett, an astronomy scientist, can't shake the feeling that his new discovery is eerily connected to his parents death 25 years earlier. As Brett struggles with nightmares and his childlike fear of the dark, strange things happen whenever he turns out the lights. Mutilated animals in his backyard, a decapitated mother-in-law and two dead cops in his living room put Brett in the crosshairs of a police investigation. Joined by a capricious young psychic, Lauryn, Brett begins to unravel the mysteries of his past with everything pointing to his parent's cult-like obsession with an ornately carved wall in his childhood home. Brett and Lauryn come to realize that the wall is a gateway, a portal to another universe, and each time Brett steps into darkness that gateway is opened momentarily, allowing evil to pass through. Now with the 25-year anniversary of his parents dead just days away, Brett and Lauryn must evade the police long enough to get to the wall and seal it for good. But Brett must never -- ever -- allow himself to step into darkness.
