Whilst Guillermo del Toro is hard at work putting the finishing touches to his new sci-fi epic ‘Pacific Rim’ the cast for his new ghost story project ‘Crimson Peak’ continues to grow. Variety are reporting that ‘Star Trek into Darkness’ bad boy Benedict Cumberbatch (below) has joined the cast of the new horror penned by Del Toro, Matthew Robbins and Lucinda Coxon. The British star is most noted for his award winning performance as the modern day embodiment of the classic literary character ‘Sherlock’ in the BBC produced mini-series. ‘Crimson Peak’ is described as being a traditional ghost story that makes use of modern conventions. Fellow Brit Charlie Hunnam (‘Sons of Anarchy’) and the outrageously hot Emma Stone (‘Gangster Squad’, ‘Zombieland’) are also set to star.
‘Crimson Peak’ will begin shooting in February 2014.
