CINEMATHEQUE REVEALS FEST SLATE
The American Cinematheque has announced the amazing full schedule for its 4th Annual International Festival of Fantasy, Horror and Science Fiction Films, running August 7-27 in LA. The wildly diverse lineup includes a sneak preview of Eli Roths CABIN FEVER, with Roth and other cast and crew attending; the LA premieres of Stuart Gordons KING OF THE ANTS (accompanied by Gordon and others), Robert Parigis LOVE OBJECT (with Parigi et al. attending) and Ryuhei (VERSUS) Kitamuras ALIVE; a new 35mm print of THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE, followed by a discussion with Tobe Hooper; the U.S. premieres of GODZILLA: GMK and GODZILLA X MEGAGUIRUS; a showing of the very rare MALPERTUIS: HISTORY OF A CURSED HOUSE, by Harry (DAUGHTERS OF DARKNESS) Ka showcase of Czech genre fare, including works by Jan Svankmajer and others; an Amicus double feature of THE HOUSE THAT DRIPPED BLOOD and HORROR HOTEL, with a between-films talk by producer Max Rosenberg; a 50th-anniversary screening of WAR OF THE WORLDS, with stars Ann Robinson, Gene Barry, Les Tremayne and Robert Cornthwaite; a 70th-anniversary screening of KING KONG; and much more.
