HBO CARNIVALE DETAILS
HBO has lately been known more for it’s original programming than it’s choice of movies, and for damn good reason. Time and time again they’ve proven they can go up against and beat out most network or basic cable shows, with a combination of excellent writers and more lenient subject matter.
So when their latest show, ‘Carnivale’, dealing with a traveling carnival in rural Oklahoma back in the 1930’s, was announced, we were damn interested. Featuring two plotlines that will run throughout the season but never intertwine and blending elements of science fiction, history, and religion, ‘Carnivale’ sounds it’s going to be another great show that those of us without HBO get to listen to those of you with HBO talk about for many weeks.
HBO has said they’re really putting a lot more behind ‘Carnivale’ than they have any other show in recent memory in terms of marketing, since the show is so different from what they currently offer they feel it’s necessary to remind people of it’s impending premiere. If you’re one of 500,000 Entertainment Weekly subscribers in ‘major markets’, for example, your latest issue should feature a 2 1/2 minute trailer for the show, free of charge. They’ve also quadrupled the amount of commercials people will see for the show, starting the first week of August the commercials began running all over the damn place.
‘Carnivale’ premieres on September 14h (two days after Cabin Fever is released!), only on HBO.
