You may have read the rumour about a week or so ago over on Bloody Disgusting concerning the possibility of not one, not two, but three new Re-Animator films in the works.
Considering the general consensus about Beyond Re-Animator, it seems pretty ballsy to plan for three more sequels, so Dread Central decided to drop star Jeffrey Combs a line to see what, exactly, is the deal.
“Well, there’s no “signing” going on right now,” he tells Dread Central, “but we are certainly exploring the possibilities. Brian’s idea is to do three Re-Animators, yes, three, back to back. We’re developing some good story lines, but we’re just in the gestation period on this…I told Brian I didn’t want to wait another 20 years to do another one. I don’t want Herbert to be a geriatric. Stuart [Gordon] could be involved on one of them. Bruce Abbott as well.”
As you may recall, Stuart’s been interested in doing House of Re-Animator, which would find Herbert West in the White House, for a few years now, so perhaps this is one of the plots being batted about.
On a side note, we just wanted to remind you that Jeffrey Combs will be one of the many cool guests at the 2nd annual Rock & Shock convention/concert in Worcester, MA on October 8th and 9th.
There will be a large Horror Channel presence there this year. Details are available right here!
