Prolific director/producer David DeCoteau gave Fango the scoop about his latest film, BEASTLY BOYZ, which just wrapped shooting. “I was waiting for the right project to come along to launch Rapid Heart Extreme, the new label I announced two years ago,” DeCoteau tells Fango. “It was written by MAKING FRIDAY THE 13TH: THE LEGEND OF CAMP BLOOD author David Grove and is a much more intense and sensual take on the traditional Rapid Heart movie. BEASTLY BOYZ was inspired by the grindhouse movies I grew up on back in the ’70s, and this will be the inspiration for all the RHX features: totally retro and rough shot-on-film shockers.”
The movie stars newcomers Sebastian Gacki, Emrey Wright, Dean Hrycan, Charlie Marsh, Andrew Butler and Valerie Murphy in the story of a young artist who is brutally murdered in her remote lakeside house. Her spirit compels her brother to carry out bloody vengeance against the killers, even as he is horrified by his own actions. Keep an eye on the Rapid Heart website, where a BEASTLY BOYZ trailer will be posted shortly. DeCoteau recently had THE SISTERHOOD and WITCHES OF THE CARIBBEAN out via Image Entertainment, and his KILLER BASH and THE BROTHERHOOD IV: THE COMPLEX are currently playing on Canada’s Movie Central station, with disc releases coming later this year.
