Fango got some major word from Rogue Pictures about the actors and crew involved with DOOMSDAY, writer/director Neil Marshall’s follow-up to THE DESCENT that begins rolling February 9 in South Africa and Britain. The movie is about a lethal virus called Reaper whose spread leads an entire country to be quarantined and walled off. When Reaper resurfaces in a major city, a team of specialists, including Eden Sinclair (Rhona Mitra) must venture into the walled region to find a cure and find themselves in a nightmare landscape. Joining Mitra in the cast are Bob (UNLEASHED) Hoskins, playing Bill Nelson, a police officer who nominates Eden for the mission and monitors its progress, Alexander (DEEP SPACE NINE) Siddig and Adrian Lester, along with numerous veterans of previous Marshall films: MyAnna Buring and Nora-Jane Noone from DESCENT, Sean Pertwee, Darren Morfitt, Emma Cleasby and Chris Robson from DOG SOLDIERS and Leslie Simpson and Craig Conway from both.
Returnees from DOG and DESCENT behind the scenes include cinematographer Sam McCurdy and production designer Paul Bowles, with DESCENT’s Paul Hyett on board to provide makeup FX. We’ll be bringing you plenty of on-set coverage both here and in FANGORIA magazine once the DOOMSDAY cameras roll.
