Director Mick Garris has been discussing with Fango his next Stephen King adaptation ‘Bag of Bones’. Garris will direct, and executive-produce with Mark Sennett.
The ‘Bag of Bones’ screenplay was penned by Matt Venne, who had previously written Dario Argento’s ‘Pelts’ for Garris’ ‘Masters of Horror’ TV anthology. “That’s where I kind of discovered him,” the director tells us. “He just seemed like a simpatico kind of guy. I liked him and his writing—very sweet and a very good writer, and he did a great script.
“What appeals to me about King in general and ‘Bag of Bones’ in particular is how human it is,” Garris continues. “The recent King stuff is very adult and very passionate, which I really respond to. I just love the idea of doing a grown-up ghost story.”
