This film is the most intentionally hilarious thing I have seen in ages. Taking a pop at ‘serious’ horror films, Wrestle Maniac begins TCM style as a group of sweaty hotties head through Mexico in a van on their way to shoot an amateur porno. The group gets lost and ends up at a skanky gas station where the proprietor warns them about stopping in La Sangre De Dios, a nearby ghost town. The group is encouraged to stop off in the town by Mexican wrestling enthusiast Steve, which they soon regret when El Mascarado begins to kill them one by one, ripping off their faces in the process.
The film looks awesome for a low budget production and has a great cast of rising stars. It is creepy, has a good villain, a really good jump scare or two and one of the most hilarious extended chase sequences I’ve ever seen.
OVERALL SUMMARY
The film is really short, with the credits rolling around the 69 minutes mark, but it’s the most entertaining hour of horror fun I’ve seen in years. Buy this now!
