IDT/ANCHOR BAY GRAB MASTERS
Yahoo! Finance reports that IDT Entertainments New Arc division, Industry Entertainment and Nice Guy Productions have pacted to produce the fright series MASTERS OF HORROR. The project grew out of periodic dinners attended by many of the genres best filmmakers, who will helm individual entries under the MASTERS banner. IDT-owned Anchor Bay Entertainment will handle the video releases of the hour-long chillers, by directors including John Carpenter, George Romero, Don Coscarelli, Joe Dante, Mick Garris, Stuart Gordon, Tobe Hooper and John Landis. Many of them will script their own projects, though a number of notable writers will also take part, including Kim Henkel (reteaming with Hooper for the first time since TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE), Richard Matheson, Steve Niles, David J. Schow and, er, 2 FAST 2 FURIOUS Michael Brandt and Derek Haas. The first in the series (no specific details yet on whose movie it will be) will roll in Vancouver March 15, 2005.
