    Anchor Bays 2nd Round Frights

    0
By Horror Asylum on September 13, 2005 News

Responding to overwhelming consumer demand from the first round of Fright Packs released last July, Anchor Bay Entertainment will once again tap its famed horror film vault, serving up the next blood thirst-quenching set of Fright Packs – Cooler Than Hell! DVD sets with two all-new “flavors” — Man’s Worst Friends (a collection of films about critters gone evil) and Walking Dead (an anthology of zombie classics). Each spine-chilled “sixer” is priced at a horrifically low SRP of $34.98, with a pre-book date of August 16th.

Long recognized as the industry leader in horror DVD programming, Anchor Bay Entertainment continues its time-honored tradition of using only the finest ingredients: choice film transfers, select sound mastering, comprehensive bonus content and great packaging that generations of horror fans have come to expect. Each Fright Pack contains six separate horror films on DVD with “beer-can” artwork from each title, wrapped in specially designed foil packaging and complete with a convenient, easy-grip handle.

In addition to the enthusiastic consumer response to the first two Fright Packs — Campy Classics and The Devil Made Me Do It — critics have sounded off their appreciation for the unique DVD concept. Entertainment Weekly proclaimed the first Fright Pack “a six-flick set of kitschy thrills” while Film Threat.com declared “Anchor Bay has always known how to catch a consumer’s eye” and The Horror Channel.com gave Fright Packs “4 out of 5 Mugs O’Blood!”

Serving Premium Horror since 1989, Anchor Bay Entertainment is committed to bringing horror fans their favorite films on DVD. Remember: Watch Fright Packs responsibly – or not – it’s your call!

On September 13, forget that football game and get ready to chug down these bloody good titles!

    FRIGHT PACK: MAN’S WORST FRIENDS

RATS: NIGHT OF TERROR –A group of post-apocalyptic bikers discover an abandoned research laboratory filled with food, water…and thousands of rats. These super-intelligent mutant rodents have a ravenous appetite for human flesh.
ZOLTAN: HOUND OF DRACULA- When the Russian army unearths the vault of Dracula, they accidentally unleash his undead human slave and the Count’s vampire hellhound Zoltan. With the help of an international vampire hunter, can Zoltan and his pack of blood-crazed devil dogs be destroyed before ’man’s best friend’ fetches the final soul of the damned?
THE CAT O’NINE TAILS– When a simple robbery at a research institute leads to a series of brutal murders, a blind puzzle maker and a tenacious reporter begin their own investigation of the crimes.

SLUGS– These are no ordinary slugs. When toxic waste contaminates their water system, these viscous creatures mutate into carnivorous killers that invade a small town.
THE BLACK CAT- The townspeople of a small English village begin to die in a series of horrible ‘accidents.’ When suspicion falls on a mysterious local medium who records conversations with the dead, the grisly deaths take on a sinister twist.
PARASITE–Evil Corporations have developed a mutant pair of flesh-eating parasites. With the help of an orphaned young woman (Demi Moore), a scientist on the run must destroy these horrific creatures before they can reproduce.

    FRIGHT PACK: WALKING DEAD

HELL OF THE LIVING DEAD: When the SWAT team arrives on a hellish island to investigate an accident at a chemical plant, they discover a plague of flesh-eating zombies as well as a beautiful female reporter who practices nude anthropology.
DEAD HEAT: Violent criminals who can’t be killed are shooting up Los Angeles, and the investigation leads LAPD detectives Roger Mortis and Doug Bigelow to a mysterious pharmaceutical firm. But when Mortis is suddenly murdered and turned into the walking dead by the company’s ‘resurrection machine,’ he must solve his own homicide case before he completely decomposes.

NIGHTMARE CITY: When a radioactive spill causes mass contamination, thousands of infected citizens are transformed into bloodthirsty undead fiends. The result is an all-out attack by fast-moving, flesh-ripping, ass-kicking maniacs that can only be stopped by a bullet to the brain.
CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD: The Seven gates of Hell have been torn open, and in 3 days the dead shall rise and walk the earth. A reporter and a psychic must race to close the portals of the damned.
LET SLEEPING CORPSES LIE: Two traveling companions, George and Edna Simon, come across a small town infested with the “living dead” that are satisfying their cannibalistic hunger on anyone they come across.
HOUSE BY THE CEMETERY: A young family moves from their cramped New York City apartment to a spacious new home in New England. But this is no ordinary house in the country: someone – or something – is alive in the basement, and home sweet home is about to become a horrific hell on earth.
