Poster’s from the upcoming ‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ sequel are sprouting up on a daily basis at the moment. Today we get a look at a new character poster for menacing pirate Hector Barbossa (played by Geoffrey Rush for a fourth time). Yesterday we gave you Penelope Cruz’s sweet ass on a one-sheet and now ladies you’ll have to feast your eyes on Barbossa’s ragged old face. Rob Marshall takes to the helm for the new 3D action adventure flick which also stars Ian McShane (‘Case 39’), Kevin R. McNally, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Sam Claflin, Stephen Graham (‘This is England’), Richard Griffiths, Gemma Ward and Penelope Cruz. Oh and some dude called Johnny Depp or something like that. Check out the new poster along with all of Hector’s character details below.
Hector Barbossa, a vile pirate returned from the dead, is the ultimate survivor. Having lost his leg—and the Black Pearl—Barbossa has traded black and silver for the grand blue and gold uniform of His Majesty’s Royal Navy. Now serving as a privateer and commanding the Providence under the Union Jack rather than the Jolly Roger, Barbossa claims to owe his allegiance to King and Country. But is it valour or revenge that pushes Barbossa toward the Fountain of Youth, a rendezvous with Captain Jack, Blackbeard and destiny?
Plot synopsis: “Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) crosses paths with a woman from his past (Cruz), and he’s not sure if it’s love – or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.”
‘Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides’ hits UK shores on 18 May and the 20 May across North America.
