A lot of positives came from the recent remake of ‘Godzilla’. Most of which further solidified British director Gareth Edwards (‘Monsters’) as a formidable talent. It’s already landed him the job of tackling one of the new ‘Star Wars’ sequels and no doubt, along with the money made on the first helping, helped the studio greenlight ‘Godzilla 2’ rather swiftly. So with Edwards back to helm the sequel the question was would ‘Godzilla’ scribe Max Borenstein (‘Skull Island’) also be back. Deadline have now confirmed that Max will return to pen the sequel! And with it’s 2018 release date it seems that he has plenty of time to get a good script nailed out. To state it’s ‘early days’ yet on this project is an understatement.
‘Godzilla 2’ is lined up for a release on 8 June 2018.
