Monsters, Mayhem, and Holidays: The David Perry Career Spotlight

In the modern landscape of independent B-horror and cult cinema, few names are as relentlessly active or passionately dedicated to the genre as David Perry. An actor and producer with an unmistakable presence, Perry has carved out a distinct legacy by embracing the wild, the gory, and the campy. From demonic forces to holiday slashers, Perry’s filmography reads like a love letter to grindhouse cinema.

Swimming with Cult Curses: Amityville Shark House

Among his most prominent and wildly conceptual projects is the infamous cult-hit feature Amityville Shark House. Released digitally by Lionsgate and Grindstone Entertainment Group, this film takes the historic haunts of the Long Island supernatural mythos and mashes them up with aggressive creature-feature terror.

In the film, a homeowner uncovers a mysterious, ancient shark idol hidden beneath the floorboards of a notoriously cursed property. Upon touching it, an insatiable demonic presence begins to merge with him, transforming a quiet coastal community into a blood-soaked nightmare. Perry shines in the production, balancing the film’s over-the-top, “so-bad-it’s-good” B-movie energy with a genuine commitment to the narrative’s escalating chaos. It remains a signature milestone in his career, cementing his affinity for high-concept indie horror.

    Digital Nightmares: Glitched

Pivotally contrasting his long-form creature features is Perry’s work on the short horror film Glitched. In this psychological and techno-horror short, Perry takes on the role of Markus. Moving away from the physical gore of mutant monsters, Glitched zeroes in on a claustrophobic, unsettling tension built around reality fracturing in a digital age. Perry’s performance as Markus highlights his range as an actor, proving he can captain grounded, micro-budget suspense just as effectively as he handles campy, blood-drenched blockbusters.

Beyond his recent accomplishments, Perry’s portfolio boasts an impressive array of acting and executive producing credits that showcase his omnipresence in the indie community:

    • Psycho Night: Stepping into the gritty slasher landscape, Perry played the memorable character “Big Daddy,” adding a heavy layer of raw energy to a film packed with intense kills and psychological breakdowns.
    • Desert Fiends: Serving as an executive producer, Perry helped bring this brutal, sun-drenched horror-comedy to life. The story follows a group of friends who break down in the middle of nowhere, only to cross paths with a deranged family of desert-dwelling cannibals.
    • Camp Pleasant Lake: Perry stepped into the woods to play Isaiah in this loving throwback to 1980s slasher classics like Friday the 13th and Sleepaway Camp. Starring alongside genre veterans Felissa Rose and Jonathan Lipnicki, Perry brought a fresh, doomed energy to the VIP camp experience turned real-life slaughterhouse.
    • Amityville Thanksgiving: Diving back into the seemingly endless pool of Amityville lore, Perry stepped into a holiday-themed nightmare. The film centers on a couple sent to a couples therapy retreat, only to discover their counselor is part of a cannibalistic cult preparing a deadly November feast.
    • I Slay on Christmas: Showcasing his ability to conquer holiday horror, Perry pulled double duty as both an actor (playing Charles Janisse) and an executive producer for this festive anthology film. Stumbling upon four supernatural pine cones, the narrative unravels a series of nightmarish Yuletide terrors.

Whether he is evading cursed sharks or fending off masked killers in the woods, David Perry continues to be a vital heartbeat in the independent horror scene, delivering unforgettable thrills to genre fans worldwide.
