Earlier this month rumours were that ‘The Conjuring’ scribes Chad and Carey Hayes were busy preparing their follow-up script for the New Line sequel. At the time word was that a particular British-based case that paranormal partners Ed and Lorraine Warren had investigated in the late 70’s would be the source for the new tale. And now the rumour has been further strengthened by returning star Patrick Wilson (‘Watchmen’). Whilst out promoting ‘Insidious Chapter 2’ actor Wilson (below) also confirmed that the Hayes brothers were interested in piecing together a sequel set in London. Wilson said: “Chad and Carey, the writers, they sort of let this cat out of the bag, so I’m just confirming their gossip, which is they were interested in a story in London, overseas, of some sisters that were possessed. I don’t know, I haven’t seen the script.”
The case file they’re looking at occurs in the late ’70s and centers on two sisters in Enfield, England, who were allegedly possessed. Warren said she personally saw them levitate and even saw one of the sister dematerialize in front of her only to be found 20 minutes later stuffed into an oversized fuse box, contorted in such an unnatural way that they couldn’t have replicated it if they tried. She also said that the demon spoke directly to her husband on many occasions. Warren cited this case as one of the most terrifying experiences of her career.
