Terry Gilliam’s classic time travel tale ’12 Monkeys’ is getting a TV adaptation. SyFy are prepping a special 8-10 episode series based on the 1995 sci-fi which starred Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. According to the Hollywood Reporter the new small screen project will see the return of ’12 Monkeys’ producers Chuck Roven and Richard Suckle who pitched the idea which will begin with a 90-minute long pilot episode which will lead into the new series. Writers Terry Matalas (‘Terra Nova’) and Travis Fickett (‘Nikita’) are set to pen the pilot with Jon Cassar (’24’) lined up to direct. Let’s just hope SyFy don’t feel the need to place an oversized sea creature hybrid into the mix.
