Vampire and lycan-fest ‘Underworld 4’ has finally got a confirmed director seated in the helming chair. Although better make it a two-seater as Swedish director duo Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein are to tackle the upcoming sequel. The twosome previously helmed split personality thriller ‘Shelter’, which starred Julianne Moore and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. The leather bound and irresistibly gorgeous Kate Beckinsale (below) returns as Selene. The follow-up will be produced by Beckinsale’s hubby Len Wiseman whom previously helmed ‘Underworld’ and ‘Underworld: Evolution’.
We last saw Selene in ‘Underworld: Evolution’, as of course the third installment ‘Underworld: Rise of the Lycans’ was a prequel. And that story went a little like this…
“‘Underworld: Evolution’ continues the saga of war between the vampires and the Lycans. The film goes back to the beginnings of the ancient feud between the two tribes as Selene, the beautiful vampire heroine, and Michael, the lycan hybrid, try to unlock the secrets of their bloodlines. ‘Underworld 4’ is all set to begin shooting in March 2011 in Vancouver, Canada.
