ARTISAN GETS HOUSE OF THE DEAD
According to scoop site CHUD, Artisan has finally stepped forward and picked up the videogame-to-big screen horror film, HOUSE OF THE DEAD – which has recently received savage reviews from various fan screenings – from Mindfire Entertainment and German director Uwe Boll. In a statement made by Artisan Entertainment Executive Vice President Patrick Gunn, HOUSE OF THE DEAD was announced as being scheduled for a ‘wide release’ in Fall of 2003. On top of HOUSE, Artisan also picked up the soon-to-be-shot ALONE IN THE DARK, another Mark Altman-produced horror title (also taken from a videogame by the same name) that will reunite Altman with HOUSE director Boll. ALONE IN THE DARK is slated to start shooting next month in Vancouver.
