BOLL NEEDS WOMEN!
If youre a fan of the video game BloodRayne then August 20th may prove to be a black day for you. An unnamed source close to the production of Uwe Bolls feature film adaptation told IGN FilmForce that shooting is set to begin August 20th. This will mark Dr. Uwe Bolls third big screen movie based on a video game following the all-time classic House of the Dead and this falls potential classic Alone in the Dark. Guin Turner, who wrote the script for American Psycho, penned the screenplay for BloodRayne, so there may be some hope. Unless of course Boll starts tossing out the script again like he did on House of the Dead. We cant have things like plot or character getting in the way of his schizophrenic action scenes, now can we?
Despite having a scheduled start date thats just over two months away, they still dont have a vamp ready to put on the fangs and fill out the bust line for this female Blade. That same anonymous source tossed out a few names on their wishlist: Keira Knightley, Jessica Alba, Jessica Biel, Natalie Portman and Kristanna Loken. Okay, first of all, I think we can pretty much rule out Knightley and Portman. For starters, they get A-list projects so I cant imagine them slumming for Dr. Boll. Secondly, I dont think they quite have the proper cleavage for the role. I also cant image Biel doing it seeing as how her career is going pretty well right now and shes already involved with a vampiric action movie franchise. Jessica Alba might be within the realm of possibility but I suspect shes probably aiming higher than working with a crazy German director with a video game fetish and besides, it would just be Dark Angel with fangs if she were cast. That leaves Loken and seeing as how she hasnt done much of anything since Terminator 3 I figure she may be the most likely.
Boll is also moving ahead with a movie based on the video game Far Cry. Seems he wants to cast The Rock and Naomi Watts in the leads. Please try and control you laughter. As if either one of them would ever return his call.
