CARNIVORE & 2 SEQUELS
Have you been dying for a sequel to 2001s direct-to-video CARNIVORE? Well, if you are, youre in luck because not one but two new adventures are on the way. Co-writer/co-director/editor/producer Kenneth Mader gave Fango the goods on the upcoming follow-upspart two titled CRIMSON BERSERKERS and part three simply CARNIVORES. BERSERKERS picks up just after the first one left off, Mader explains. with the Carnivore being chased through the woods to a nearby town, while a trio of new biomechanical beasts [the aforementioned Berserkers] are dispatched to terminate not only Carny, but our heroes as well. In number three, the Carnivore causes more trouble after spawning numerous mutant children that ultimately break free from their confinement in a secret Nevada safehouse and terrorize our heroes along with a group of commandos sent to destroy them.
Wed love to shoot both films back to back to save costs and time. We believe that this is the beginning of a really cool, highly profitable monster franchise, adds Mader, who plans to script and helm CRIMSON BERSERKERS while his writing/directing partner from the original, F. Joseph Kurtz, will take care of CARNIVORES. Though no cast has been officially announced yet, Mader says, Robin [ALLIGATOR] Riker has agreed to play the female lead in the sequels.
The original CARNIVORE is currently available on DVD from Fox on its budget Key label, but watch outthe extras promised on the package (audio commentary, etc.) are nowhere to be found on the disc itself.
