EROTIC MEDIA BLASTERS
Media Blasters just shared with Fango some news about upcoming horror DVDs theyre working on. Continuing its series of Eurohorror releases, the companys Shriek Show label will issue Joe DAmatos EROTIC NIGHTS OF THE LIVING DEAD in an uncut, remastered, anamorphic widescreen edition on June 29. This disc will include all the explicit footage trimmed from other versions of the movie, plus alternate untreated footage (amusingly titled Erotic Sunny Afternoons of the Living Dead), a gallery of production stills and another devoted to star Laura Gemser, the theatrical trailer and more. Retail price will be $29.95; an edited General Release disc will also be available, for $24.95.
Also coming from Shriek Show (date to be determined) is BAD INCLINATION (CATTIVE INCLINAZIONI), a new giallo said to be packed with explicit sex and violence in the great Italian tradition. Pierfrancesco Campanella directed the film, which stars Euroveterans Florinda (FLAVIA THE HERETIC) Bolkan and Franco Nero. And on June 15, Shriek Show releases DARK CRAVING, a retitling of John Russos 1993 vampire film HEARTSTOPPER starring Tom Savini, Kevin Kindlin and Moon Zappa. This is the movies DVD debut and will include a featurette, interviews with Russo and FX creator Jerry Gergely, an exclusive photo gallery and other extras. Retail price will be $19.95
Meanwhile, Media Blasters Guilty Pleasures label continues to bring the work of B-fave Ray Dennis Steckler to DVD. On the slate are two Steckler horror titles: The first, coming May 25, is a double feature of BLOOD SHACK and the directors alternate cut titled THE CHOOPER, which will include commentaries by Steckler on the former and Joe Bob Briggs on the latter, plus a Steckler interview, a Joe Bob introduction and a photo gallery, for $19.95. On June 29, Guilty Pleasures unleashes THE HOLLYWOOD STRANGLER MEETS THE SKID ROW SLASHER, which will also feature a Steckler commentary and interview and a Joe Bob commentary and intro, plus a talk with star Carolyn Brandt and a still/poster gallery, all for just $14.95.
