INDIE CHILLER UNAWARE
Indie director Marc (SHORT CUT ROAD) Selz will begin production on his new fright feature UNAWARE this fall. The director tells Fango that it will be a smart, dark film that will keep you guessing till the very end. So far, scream queen Linnea Quigley and Joe (SOULTAKER) Estevez have signed on to star, with the Maniac Cop himself, Robert ZDar, currently in talks to join them.
Selz goes on to describe UNAWAREs story: A police officer in a small town discovers murders in the hot spot where high-school couples go to fool around. One of the victims turns out to be the officers brother. Just a few miles down the road is the Clearbrook Mental Sanitarium, where a patient has just escaped. The murders uncover hidden family secrets, and with the help of a driven female detective, the truth will be revealed. There are twists and turns that lead to a suspenseful and shocking ending.
My intention in making UNAWARE, Selz continues, is to grab the attention of the younger and older audiences. You can find out more about the project by going to www.unawaremovie.com. Meanwhile, the slasher opus SHORT CUT ROAD is tentatively slated for DVD release in November on the Sub Rosa label.
