PANG TO DIRECT SCARECROW
According the The Hollywood Reporter, directing brothers Danny and Oxide Pang, who won plenty of attention for THE EYE, will make their joint English-language debut with SCARECROW. (Oxide previously helmed the British crime thriller THE TESSERACT). Scheduled to shoot next spring, SCARECROW is the latest project for Sam Raimi and Rob Taperts Ghost House Pictures, which will produce in tandem with Blue Star Pictures, which made DARKNESS FALLS. Originally scripted by Todd (JASON X) Farmer and rewritten by Stuart (COLLATERAL) Beattie, the film is about a family who move onto a dilapidated farm that then starts to turn around, only for the father to start exhibiting strange behavior. The project was originally titled TOTEM and set to be directed by Patrick (DRACULA 2000) Lussier.
