About a year ago there was a lot of chatter surrounding a new potential companion series for AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’. The network have now officially given the go-ahead for the pilot for the still yet untitled show which was penned by the original comic creator Robert Kirkman and producer Dave Erickson (‘Sons of Anarchy’). Following the shows impressive numbers for the last season it was a natural move for AMC to attempt to broaden its on-screen mythology even further. The upcoming fifth season of ‘The Walking Dead’ arrives on 12 October and stars Andrew Lincoln, Danai Gurira, Norman Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Michael Cudlitz, Melissa McBride, Seth Gilliam, Andrew J. West, Alanna Masterson and Christian Serratos.
“There are many corners of The Walking Dead universe that remain unseen in the shadows.” stated author Kirkman “Being given the opportunity to shine a light into those corners and see what lurks out there is an absolute thrill.”
