Is the world ready for another ultra low budget homicidal man-rabbit movie after the Polonia Bros’ Peter Rottentail? This is the question that writer/director Tony Urban, the man who got Jaime Pressly started down the trailer trash trail to “My Name is Earl” superstardom with her starring role in his movie Poor White Trash, is hoping you’ll answer “yes” and check out his upcoming killer man-rabbit “fable” Kottentail.
A couple of those constantly meddling animal rights activists raid a lab and free a genetically altered bunny that goes on to attack farmer Hans Kottentail, causing him to transform into a seriously pissed off wererabbit. Forget Wallace & Gromit, it’s up to five local babes, who spend a good deal of the movie in sexy bunny costumes, to contend with the killer rabbit man.
This horror comedy resulted from the “I Want to be a Scream Queen” reality TV/internet actress search in which aspiring actresses from the US and Canada attempted to land a starring role in the movie, namely the roles of those five scantily clad babes who have to stop the killer Kottentail. In addition, the film also co-stars a real-life bunny, a Playboy bunny to be exact, Bridget Marquardt, one of Hef’s girlfriends who appeared on that “The Girls Next Door” show.
Brain Damage Films will be releasing the uncut, fully loaded (commentary track, outtakes, featurettes, “Easter Eggs” galore) DVD of Kottentail on October 3rd. In the meantime, you can get a peak at the Troma-esque antics of the psychopathic bunny boy by checking out the film’s trailer here.
