Ahh well that’s a bloody shame. It appears that actress Lily Collins (‘Priest’, ‘Abduction’) has had to pull out of starring in the Ghost House and Mandate Pictures’ reboot of ‘The Evil Dead’ due to a scheduling issue. The news was spilled by Variety’s Jeff Schneider whom tweeted the disappointing news. Collins (below) was the only name attached to star in the Fede Alvarez helmed project thus far and she now leaves the role of Mia, a recovering drug-addict, open to other suitable candidates. Alvarez co-penned ‘The Evil Dead’ along with Rodo Sayagues and Diablo Cody (‘Jennifer’s Body’) also added her two cents to the script. Production will kick off in New Zealand this March.
“In this retelling, five friends (David, Natalie, Eric, Olivia, and Mia) hole up at a remote cabin where they discover a Book of the Dead. A demonic force is unleashed possessing each until only one is left to fight for survival.”
