Followers of writer/director Neil Marshall’s DOG SOLDIERS and THE DESCENT were no doubt thrilled by Friday’s news that Universal will release his new Rogue Pictures production DOOMSDAY in theaters nationwide March 14. “I’m literally days away from putting the finishing touches to DOOMSDAY,” Marshall tells Fango. “Although it’s not a horror movie, it is full of brutal, hardcore action, so I’m sure there’s more than enough blood and guts to keep the fans happy. Paul Hyett, the makeup effects supervisor, told me when we started shooting that there were more gore effects in this film than in our previous movie together, THE DESCENT! So I can’t wait to see what Fangorians think when we unleash DOOMSDAY upon the world on March 14.”
FANGORIA magazine will publish an exclusive South Africa set-visit report on DOOMSDAY, which stars Rhona (THE NUMBER 23) Mitra, Bob (THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY) Hoskins, Malcolm McDowell and Sean (DOG SOLDIERS) Pertwee, in issue #271 (on sale February 25).
