A selection of new on set pics from the New Orleans shoot of the Matt Reeves (‘Let Me In’) helmed sequel ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ have arrived courtesy of Superhero Hype. The photos show an overgrown, aged San Francisco with the action of the movie taking place 15 years after ‘Rise of the Planet of the Apes’. There’s just a small handful of them shown below. Andy Serkis (‘The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug’) reprises his motion capture role as Ape leader Caesar and he is joined by Jason Clarke (‘Zero Dark Thirty’), Gary Oldman (‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’), Keri Russell (‘Dark Skies’), Toby Kebbell (‘Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time’), Kodi Smit-McPhee (‘ParaNorman’), Enrique Murciano, Kirk Acevedo and Judy Greer. Make sure you click the link at the bottom to check out the rest of the images.
“A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth’s dominant species.”
‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’ is due for release on 23 May 2014.
