Hey, let’s kick off the day with some good news shall we? The terrific ‘Shaun of the Dead’ and ‘Hot Fuzz’ trio Edgar Wright, Simon Pegg (‘Star Trek Into Darkness’) and Nick Frost team up once more for their tantilizing trilogy completion ‘The World’s End’. And whilst us lucky UK-ers will be able to enjoy this atypical apocalyptic survival comedy right in the middle of our Summertime this coming August it was sadly more of a wait for our US counterparts. Thankfully, however, the release has been grabbed up by the scruff of the neck and pulled up from its originally planned 25 October opening in the US all the way up to 23 August. Along with Pegg and Frost the flick stars a whole array of British talent including Paddy Considine (‘Dead Man’s Shoes’), Eddie Marsan (‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’), Martin Freeman (‘The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey’) and the gorgeous Rosamund Pike (‘Jack Reacher’).
“20 years after attempting an epic pub crawl, five childhood friends reunite when one of them becomes hell-bent on trying the drinking marathon again. They are convinced to stage an encore by mate Gary King, a 40-year-old man trapped at the cigarette end of his teens, who drags his reluctant pals to their home town and once again attempts to reach the fabled pub, The World’s End. As they attempt to reconcile the past and present, they realize the real struggle is for the future, not just theirs but humankind’s. Reaching The World’s End is the least of their worries.”
