20th Century Fox has settled on a March 21, 2008 release date for SHUTTER, its remake of the hit Thai chiller about a photographer haunted by specters in his pictures after fleeing a hit-and-run accident. Directed by Masayuki Ochiai (whose own Asian shocker INFECTION will be remade in the U.S. by a different director…and so it goes…) from a script by Luke Dawson, the new SHUTTER stars Joshua (URBAN LEGEND) Jackson and Rachael (SEE NO EVIL) Taylor. Meanwhile, Dread Central reported the other day that the Clive Barker film MIDNIGHT MEAT TRAIN, helmed by another transplanted Japanese filmmaker, Ryuhei (VERSUS) Kitamura, will hit theaters May 16.
