If something is going to make you feel your age its when you see grown up snaps of past child stars. It doesn’t seem like two seconds ago that Alexa Vega was running around kicking bad-guy ass in Robert Rodriguez’s family action fantasy franchise ‘Spy Kids’. Now the actress is 23 years old and taking on roles with a little more bite. She already has a number of genre entries under her belt including that of ‘Repo! The Genetic Opera’, ‘Mother’s Day’ and ‘The Devil’s Carnival’. And last year she returned as Carmen Cortez in for Rodriguez in ‘Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D’ but its her new role in grindhouse sequel ‘Machete Kills’ that gets our attention today where the sexy Vega reteams with the imaginative director. Vega plays KillJoy in the upcoming follow-up which also stars Danny Trejo, Jessica Alba (‘Sin City’), Michelle Rodriguez (‘Resident Evil: Retribution’), Amber Heard (‘Drive Angry’), Zoe Saldana (‘Avatar’), Sofia Vergara, Edward James Olmos (‘Dexter’), Charlie Sheen, William Sadler, Mel Gibson, Demian Bichir and the sexy Avellan twins. And you can head below for a newly posted Instagram pic of the actress in character below.
“The new film finds Machete (Trejo) recruited by the U.S. Government for a mission which would be impossible for any mortal man. Machete must battle his way through Mexico to take down a madman cartel leader and an eccentric billionaire arms dealer (Gibson) who has hatched a plan to spread war across the planet with a weapon in space. Machete takes on an army in an effort to dismantle a plan for global anarchy.”
‘Machete Kills’ is fast becoming the movie with the largest selection of sweat-inducing hotties I think we’ve seen in quite some time. Any flick that can pull together Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez, Amber Heard, Zoe Saldana, Sofia Vergara, the sexy 2-4-1 deal of the Elise and Electra Avellan and Alexa Vega is certainly going to be one hell of a wild ride. What do you think?
Alexa Vega is no Killjoy
