It’s been a while since we reported anything really on Kevin Smith’s move to horror ‘Red State’. But that’s mostly because we thought it’s be out by about now, in fact we’re going to have to wait until October till it see’s the light of day, and no word yet on when it’ll arrive on UK shores. But now to join the raft of other existing character poster’s from the movie (which you can check out in our related news items below) comes a look at Stephen Root’s Sheriff character. It comes courtesy of FilmThreat.com whom managed to bid successfully on the poster ($2050.00) which was sold by Smith to help raise money for the American Red Cross’ Japanese Relief effort. Root is probably more fondly remembered as the hilarious Milton in ‘Office Space’ and was equally brilliant in TV series ‘Newsradio’ alongside the late Phil Hartman and ‘Kid in the Hall’ star Dave Foley. ‘Red State’ co-stars John Goodman, Michael Parks, Kerry Bishe, Melissa Leo, Michael Angarano, Kyle Gallner, Ralph Garman and Nicholas Braun. Check out the new one-sheet below.
“A horror film in which a group of misfits encounter fundamentalism gone to the extreme in Middle America.”
‘Red State’ is still being shown at various festivals but won’t hit US theatres until 19 October 2011.
