‘Pulp Fiction’s very own honey bunny Amanda Plummer (below) has joined the cast of Francis Lawrence’s sci-fi action sequel ‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’. Plummer will aptly portray the role of Wiress the eccentric character from the novel who gains the nickname “Nuts”. Along with this official piece of casting news another trio of names are being lined up for potential parts in the follow-up due for release in November 2013. First up we have Brit actor Sam Claflin (‘Snow White and the Huntsman’) who is up for the role of Finnick Odair, a male victor from District 4. And both ‘Red State’ star Melissa Leo and ‘Thir13en Ghosts’ actor Tony Shalhoub are also in the running to join the returning list of players that include the gorgeous Jennifer Lawrence (‘X-Men: First Class’), Josh Hutcherson (‘Detention’), Liam Hemsworth, Elizabeth Banks (‘Man on a Ledge’), Woody Harrelson (‘2012’) and Donald Sutherland (‘Don’t Look Now’).
“THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a “Victor’s Tour” of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) – a competition that could change Panem forever.”
‘The Hunger Games: Catching Fire’ is set to hit theatres on 22 November 2013.
