Producer Roy Lee is no stranger to dipping his fingers into a horror remake project. Serving as exec producer on such redo’s as ‘The Ring’, ‘The Grudge’ and ‘The Eye’ the man is lining up an immense and endless horde of projects to keep him busy. Currently serving as producer on Takashi Shimizu’s in-flight horror ‘7500’ the folks over at Bloody Disgusting have been chatting with Lee particularly about his exuberant interest in remaking the classic Tobe Hooper and Steven Spielberg 1982 horror flick ‘Poltergeist’. The remake has been high on the list of remake speculation for a number of years now but it appears Lee is trying to push this ahead and is currently in talks with MGM to produce. Check out what Lee had to say below.
Speaking to a group of reporters, Mr. Lee confided, “The one that I’m most excited about updating is the ‘Poltergeist’ reboot. That is probably something that somebody, hopefully next year, will be able to accomplish… I’m in talks [to produce it for MGM].”
