For those familiar with Paul Verhoeven’s 1987 sci-fi thriller ‘RoboCop’ will already pretty well versed in the world of Alex Murphy and so the newly revealed plot details for the José Padilha (‘Elite Squad’) helmed remake come as no surprise. A trio of volunteers have kindly given up their time to perform in the remake and all they have asked for in return was kudos and a bucket load of cash. Joel Kinnaman (‘The Darkest Hour’) plays the metallic law-enforcer whilst Gary Oldman (‘The Dark Knight Rises’) is on board as the creator and everybodys favourite figure of cool Samuel L. Jackson will play Pat Novak, “a charismatic media mogul and a powerful force in the RoboCop world”. The ‘RoboCop’ redo is currently slated for a 9 August 2013 release.
