Victor Salva’s ‘Jeepers Creepers’ was a particular favourite of mine back in the day. And even though its been nearly 8 years since we were gifted with a ‘less-interesting’ sequel talk of a third installment has been thrown about for quite some time now. Sadly, it seems, at least according to Salva himself it appears ‘Jeepers Creepers 3’ may still be shunted to the backburner. The Daily Blam spoke to the writer/director whilst on post duties on his latest horror-thriller flick ‘Rosewood Lane’ where he spoke of the difficulties in getting it into production as well as exactly why it will not be hitting theatres in 3D – if of course it makes it that far in the first place. Check out Vic’s rantings below.
Salva says, “It has come close several times to going before cameras, and I hope someone sees the wisdom in shooting this, the third and final Creeper tale, I still can’t tell you what the fate of this third film will be. According to IMBD we are already filming – I guess they started without any of us!”
“3D would absolutely devastate the script – since the added 2 to 3 million in production costs would strip the screenplay down to a point where it would be smaller in scale than the original Jeepers Creepers. And then even that money dried up. I would say the film has been on and off the front burner at least nine times during the last few years.”
