Well, rumours had been on the cards for a while that ‘Scream 4’ could in fact be the commencement of an entire new ‘Scream’ trilogy. And now it appears that Dimension Films have a ‘Scream 5’ penning job set up for a lucky scriptwriter out there, at least according to horror site Shock Till You Drop. And Cinema Blend are also reporting that Dimension’s head honcho Bob Weinstein is very open to the idea. So if ‘Scream 4’ hits the big bucks then we could very well see the arrival of two more follow-ups. But will director Wes Craven helm them if they do happen? Well apparently “He’s intrigued by the nature of doing two trilogies within a career”. ‘Scream 4’ arriving next month, stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Hayden Panettiere, Emma Roberts, Marley Shelton and many more.
“Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), now the author of a self-help book, returns home to Woodsboro on the last stop of her book tour. There she reconnects with Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette) and Gale (Courteney Cox), who are now married, as well as her cousin Jill (Emma Roberts) and her Aunt Kate (Mary McDonnell). Unfortunately Sidney’s appearance also brings about the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney, Gale, and Dewey, along with Jill, her friends, and the whole town of Woodsboro in danger.”
