    13th Child (2002)

Starting off in ‘Blair Witch Project’ style, we get a local woman’s
account of what she saw one night.

The film, then appeared to be shot in 35mm for one scene, before going
back to DV, thus the problems begin.

The film starts well but then begins to jump around with a broken
narrative, that tries to backtrack whilst intercutting current footage,
simultaneously moving between a plethora of different characters in
numerous locations, and including an abundance of redundant side
    narratives.

The story of the Jersey Devil is very interesting, but it was over
complicated with the inclusion of politics and morals (at one point, I
thought this had been written by a PETA rep, but then decided that the
inclusion of many dead deer ruled that out).

The acting and effects are ok, but the narrative lost me on more than one occasion, which ultimately left me feeling bored. Not enough intrigue and
too many ideas sadly ruined this film.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
An interesting premise is ruined by an overcomplicated plot. If you’re
interested in the Jersey Devil, check out ‘The Last Broadcast’ instead.
