    8MM 2 (2005)

This name only sequel sees Lori Heuring and Johnathon Schaech star as a politician’s daughter and her diplomat husband-to-be respectively, who find themselves at the centre of a blackmail plot after they share their bed with a foreign stranger one night.

The premise is nothing new as secrets are uncovered and reputations are at stake but I was genuinely shocked at how racy the film’s content was. Yes, unbelievably, the film’s content is far more X rated than the clips they have used from Vivid titles.

Whilst the film is quite enjoyable, (largely down to the fact that you know someone isn’t quite what they seem but you can’t decide who) it did stretch believability and indeed credibility until breaking point. If you were the daughter of a high powered Senator and evidence of your ménage a trios was about to be made public, would you then spend the next few days traipsing around every seedy club, brothel and alleyway in Budapest? Don’t think so, but that’s exactly what our protagonists do and they do it with such great abandon to boot.

I was also really shocked at how little convincing Lori Heuring needed to disrobe. Dropping your top in the hopes of A-list stardom are we?

    OVERALL SUMMARY
In all, the film is an enjoyable enough 90 minutes with a likeable and familiar cast, great European locations and a cool soundtrack, not a bad way to spend a Monday evening.
