The third film in one of the most exciting horror series of this century, sees a group of High School seniors thrown out of a rollercoaster (quite literally) after one of their number, Wendy, has a premonition that the ride is broken and about to derail.
The film follows familiar territory, but I must say that the much hyped and anticipated rollercoaster sequence was the least frightening of all three opening accidents. I also felt that the first death was boring up to a point, having just seen it played out in similar fashion in both Deuce Bigalow 2 and Urban Legends 3, although it was far more gruesome here. The film suddenly picked up after this point and was surprising, gory, fun and thrilling.
The deaths were really disgusting, the cast were mostly likeable but the characters and the story weren’t so good. I liked the idea of the clues found in photos angle and the ending was pretty good too, but all in all it was probably my least favourite of the three.
OVERALL SUMMARY
A few little subplots and the presence of Kris Lemche and Alexz Johnson help make it better but it’s essentially more of the same, with the emphasis on gore. This is a good thing in itself as this really pushes the boundaries of its 15 rating, but the story has suffered as a result.
