Supposedly based on a true story, Black Cadillac tells the story of three friends, Scott, CJ and Robby, on a last hurrah before Scott leaves for College.
The boys being boys, get into trouble and soon find themselves being pursued by a hulking Black Caddy!! Mucho creepiness ensues as the boys try to get home.
This little film is simplistically entertaining (and from what I can gather bears resemblence to ‘Dead End’ which my damn cinemas weren’t showing late last year!!).
The majority of the film takes place in or next to the car so had to be engaging for the viewer. Thankfully, Director John Murlowski was able to keep us entertained by focusing on the story of the boys friendships and how they came to be here, as well as focusing on the situation at hand.
The cast are all excellent, Randy Quaid surprised me and I am a fan of ‘Jeeper’s Creeper’s 2’ star Josh Hammond, so was glad to see that he was involved in the project.
The scenery and lighting help to increase the tension and set the mood and I have to say that the effects are actually very good for such a low budget production.
OVERALL SUMMARY
A dark but entertaining film. I definitely recommend that fans of simplistic films check this out!!
