This film tells the tale of a factory worker horribly mutated by chemicals only to return as a flesh eating mutant, and is surprisingly very good considering it’s meager budget.
Brad Sykes directs a cast of familiar faces including Ron Jeremy and Tiffany Shepis, and manages to create a well lit and acted film that is also well edited, which is unusual in low budget horror movies. He even manages to ring a few surprises and a bit of a twist out of what could easily have been a generic script.
The monster and gore effects are well handled, and the fight sequence between two women is very convincing also. I was surprised at how far removed this was from his earlier ‘Camp Blood’ films and was impressed at the efforts by all involved that went into making this little movie a really good watch.
OVERALL SUMMARY
I don’t think there were any aspects of the production that you could highlight as poorer than the others, as the film was more than competently created. If only the premise and the execution had been a little more unique, this would have been something of a hidden gem. I know there is only so much a man can do with the same story and no money, but the ending was a little repetitive and indeed too similar to ‘Friday the 13th’ to stand out from the pack.
