Kevin Kangas returns with a clever gimmick in tow (exploitation of a popular fear) and does well with what could have been another dire exercise in low budget horror filmmaking.
The film sees coulrophobic artist Lynn Blodgett (Jacky Reres) find herself the target of a real-life clown…a clown with a really big axe to grind, but why is he stalking Lynn?
The film has a solid premise and some great artistic ideas going for it which is boosted by the two leads (Reres and Rick Ganz) but it is a little slow.
I appreciated Kangas attempts at bringing more to the proceedings thanks to his multi-layered screenplay, but there was a little bit of fat that could have been trimmed off here and there.
Mark Lassise handles his role of Shivers the Clown well, even managing to make him speak and remain a threatening presence.
OVERALL SUMMARY
In the end, it’s a little long in the tooth but it’s a decent enough attempt at bringing another evil clown to life.
