    Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning (1985)

This has to be the worst of the Friday films, what with bad dialogue, too many characters, a stupid story, overacting and plenty extra cheese.

Out for revenge on Tommy Jarvis, ‘Jason’ targets the occupants of a halfway house where Tommy has recently been moved to after a stint in a psychiatrict ward.

The film starts well but quickly descends into a string of crappy jump scenes strung together by bland death sequences that only serve to make us laugh, as the victims are all narky bitches.

‘Jason’ looks like a tit and acts like one too so is effectively less scary than crazy Ethel, who is the funniest thing in this.

Highlights include a hilarious sequence involving a young girl practicing robotics in her bedroom, and if you get bored during the lengthy climax you can play spot the heroine’s cardigan as it appears and disappears throughout.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
The worst in the series. A New Beginning can be compared to ‘Halloween 3’ in that the filmmakers tried to do something different with disastrous results.
