Robert Harmon does a fine job with this decent effort that sees Jim Cavaziel tracking a disabled psycho who kills his victims by using his car as a weapon.
The film is aesthetically pleasing and has a solid cast of rising stars and familiar character actors at it’s core, who all help to make it a worthwhile watch.
The film had a limited release here earlier this summer but should hopefully make a bigger impact on DVD this Autumn.
As always Harmon excels in his execution of the car and chase scenes, but he demonstrates that given the chance he can work magic on the more intimate moments shared between his characters.
OVERALL SUMMARY
Whilst Highwaymen isn’t really that scary or action packed, it is a solid genre effort that deserves to be recognised and I wish that Dimension and New Line would stop pissing about with Harmon’s work and release dates.
