This unusual tale of an art project gone terribly wrong is a strange film.
For their end of year project 5 members of an art class are each assigned a part of a mannequin which they are to decorate in a fashion which befits them.
The group meet up at a bar for their final class, as the classroom is being fumigated (yeah right) and discuss why they chose to decorate their part in the way that they did before putting Jigsaw or ‘Jiggy’ as they call him together.
‘Jiggy’ soon aspires to be a ‘real boy’ and starts hacking off their limbs.
Jigsaw has a neat premise and some good cast members but suffers from a lack of stuff for its cast to do.
Far too talkative and not that well explained, Jigsaw is roughly 90 minutes of high drama strung together with stalk and slash sequences.
The premise is very good and it does tackle subjects normally found in the Odyssey back catalogue, but there isn’t enough horror or even scares to keep you that interested, and the ending is truly awful.
OVERALL SUMMARY
A nice idea, but the filmmakers should have held out and made this with a different studio. In the end we may have had another twisted tale in the vein of ‘May’ and ‘Love Object’.
