    Killers by Nature (2005)

Eric Spudic returns with a feature film that he created about two goofy guys who have recently finished high school and sit around all day drinking beer, watching porn and playing video games.

One day the gruesome twosome decide to get their revenge on the mean kids from their high school, and begin with some ‘Prom Night’ style pranks before going all ‘Carrie 2’ and then eventually ‘Natural Born Killers’ on their asses.

Our main protagonists are hilarious as they are stereotypes that actually do exist within society, and I actually found myself laughing out loud at their early antics.

Once the guys slip into killer mode they retain their sense of humour but they also become a little sick. I know that the script was changed quite a bit after Columbine made the news so I’m guessing that it was originally a little darker. Younger viewers will be all too familiar with the characters and their method of thinking, as this really goes on. I personally know of people who did similar things which got them in some deep shit.

The film looks good and the guys give it their all, especially in the finale which gives WWE a run for it’s money. There are all manner of horror homages to be found throughout, including visual nods and character references which is common in Spudic’s work. So all in all the horror fans will have fun.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
Made by movie fans for movie fans, Killers by Nature is a fun flick that crosses the line of taste and decency to rival any Hollywood gross out comedy. It’s a shame that our current climate wouldn’t allow for a darker look at teenage life, but the flick is bloody good fun all the same. Check it out when it gets it’s US DVD release on October 25th 2005.
