This belated sequel sees small town cop Sheriff Riley (John Schneider) having to deal with multiple bloodthirsty crocodiles, as a bunch of local kids (including Riley’s soon) party at the lake, unaware of the danger that lurks nearby.
Essentially following the path set out by it’s predecessor, Lake Placid 2 is a made for TV movie that does what it’s supposed to and that’s make a buck off of a successful film whilst entertaining and in a goofy way it does just that.
The cast members all have big shoes to fill (everyone essentially plays the same roles found in the first film) and whilst they don’t really compare to any of their predecessors, they do good jobs.
The film is technically competent and aesthetically pleasing to a point, thanks to the sun kissed locations, but the dreadful CGI ruins various shot compositions.
OVERALL SUMMARY
The film is a little bit gory and there’s plenty body parts, blood and boobs to be found, so fans of dodgy creature features are sure to have a giggle with this.
