    Nightshadows (2004)

By Phil Davies Brown on December 6, 2004 Reviews

After watching many bland movies lately, I was completely taken aback by this nasty little short film!!

Jerry G. Angelo plays Matthew, a gay guy who decides to celebrate his impending 30th Birthday by hooking up with a young boy named David that he met over the internet.

Matthew wakes up in the middle of the night to find that David has gone, but that doesn’t mean he’s alone.

Director JT Seaton has crafted a really good film here. Not only does the film look good, it also has some of the best sound design I have ever heard in a short film, and it also has a really good score.

The film is well lit, and manages to provide more jumps in its 16 minute running time than many features do.

What I liked most about the film was it’s cheeky nature that plays on audience expectations with regards to horror cliches.

It was great to see Jerry G. Angelo play a very different role and he handled it very well.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
This film was truly refreshing. Just when you thought you had seen it all, a little film like this comes along and manages to turn a simple story into an enjoyable film. Nightshadows is a well made horror short that could easily rival any low budget feature currently on release.
