    Ring Around the Rosie (2006)

This bland thriller sees Gina Philips star as Karen, a young publicity exec who receives news that her beloved Grandmother is about to die. Karen makes it to the hospital in time to say goodbye and her Grandmother tells her she wants her to have the house, a sprawling hillside cabin complete with stables and all kinds of out houses.

Karen and her boyfriend set off to begin packing up her grandparent’s belongings. Karen can’t quite explain it, but she wants to sell the house. After many nightmares, her boyfriend reluctantly leaves her and heads back to the city, but he needn’t worry as her sister Wendy turns up the next day. Not long after, Karen discovers that Pierce, a caretaker, is living on the land out by the stables.

Pierce seems suspicious to Karen, and as she continues to have weird dreams she becomes wary of Pierce and her sister’s apparent fondness for him. What ensues is a confusing mess of dreams, visions and flash cuts.

The film has a great cast at its disposal, yet they don’t seem to have much to do and therefore I grew quickly tired of watching Gina Philips have a nightmare, wake up and then repeat it at least six times in the first half hour. On top of that, they make her scream and whine continuously, which got annoying too.

    OVERALL SUMMARY
Cast and so-so aesthetics aside, the film has nothing to offer, adds nothing new to the genre, and in all isn’t even entertaining enough to prevent boredom on a wet afternoon. In fact it will most likely make you feel worse than you were before you started watching this.
